BIO On their groundbreaking third full-length album "The Signal," Compact Disk Dummies captivate with a rich tapestry of sounds and emotions. This album stands as a beacon of their evolution, brilliantly weaving together themes of doubt, contemplation, and the courage to follow one's path amidst external noise and internal turmoil.

From the compelling cover depicting a scene of anticipation and reflection with a table, a bell, two brothers, and an eager crowd, to the eclectic mix of musical styles, "The Signal" embarks on a journey through retro house, funk, and beyond. Lennert and Janus Coorevits, the masterminds behind the band, showcase their unparalleled versatility, drawing from their electrifying performances at Rock Werchter and Pukkelpop, and the success of hits like ‘There's No Sex Without You’ and ‘fomo’.

Each track on the album, from ‘fomo’ dissecting human yearnings to ‘Where We Go (Calypso)’ narrating the tale of an unwanted shipwreck, and the title track’s exploration of a toxic relationship, resonates with the complexity of human emotions. Yet, the musical execution exudes confidence, merging various influences into a harmonious blend without losing the distinct identity of Compact Disk Dummies.

The album is not just a collection of songs but a collaboration of talents. With the French touch of Michael Declerck and Alex Gopher, the Dutch essence of Wieger Hoogendorp and Jens Van Der Meij, and the intricate string sections by Wietse Meys and Reinhard Vanbergen, among others, "The Signal" emerges as a masterpiece. Producer Jasper Maekelberg's oversight and the artistic contribution by Athos Burez further elevate the album’s allure.

Despite its international flair and the involvement of renowned artists, the essence of "The Signal" remains intimately tied to the Dummies. Recorded in Desselgem, within the creative sanctuary of Studio 87, Lennert and Janus continue to be the driving force behind the music. As vocalist, lyricist, multi-instrumentalist, engineer, producer, and tech wizard, they have crafted their most sophisticated album yet, a testament to their journey from angular electro-punk to the expansive universe they inhabit today.

With "The Signal," Compact Disk Dummies not only navigate the challenges of artistic expression and self-doubt but also invite us to explore the depth of our desires, fears, and the inevitable quest for meaning amidst the chaos of signals that define our existence.
